If your present plastic pan based seat is breaking your backside in instead?...Then by all means read on! OK, Why would you be inclined to purchase this seat over the Brooks Pro? If you're more inclined to ride up on the top of the bars most of the time, then this saddle is generally going to be lot more comfortable for you. The top is a bit wider and flatter than the pro. This tends to give greater support of you weight and less irritation to your underside for the long haul. It's just fine for the short periods in the drops as well. Eugene Sloan (Author of Sloan's complete book of Bicycling) suggests, that you tilt your leather seat with the nose down. For the most part I agree. This is a good idea that really eliminates the pressure on one's prostate. However, I suggest initially that the new user try a level position the first 50 to 100 miles of riding. This will wear in a bit of indentation at the sit bones. After you those indentations become physically noticeable, then try to gradually bring the nose down. You will find that the indentations will actually prevent you from sliding forward, and you'll begin to experience improved comfort, with less pressure to those sensitive areas. Ride a Classic!
