Classic Equine custom bit by Gist; Often perceived as severe, this bit is fairly mild. Like the dogbone, the mouthpiece is broken in three places to contact different areas of the mouth. It wraps over the tongue with applied pressure. The top of the spade is rounded and smooth for soft realized pressure to the top of the mouth. This is a great bit to introduce a horse to palate pressure in the transition to ported bits. Pressure is also felt on the chin, bars, and corners of the mouth to contact all possible pressure points. Offering more control than the snaffle mouthpiece, it is commonly used in all types of performance events and for training.This bit is used but in nearly new condition. It has a copper mouth with German silver on the cheeks. It shows up very well in the show pen and can be used for an all-around bit as well. Custom ingraved by Gist.
