A third passenger must sit elsewhere.)       Specifications:   Length: 13 feet Beam: 3.7 feet Weight: 140 lbs. Capacity: 465 lbs. Also includes instruction manual, paperwork and manufacturer certificate of origin.   Requires 12V marine Deep Cycle (AGM or Wet Cell) Group 27 battery and charger (not included).         Condition:   The boat is brand new. The photographs are from an identical unit that has sold. Note: as with virtually all kayaks and large polyethylene craft, some minor scuffs and small dings are a normal and unavoidable part of the manufacturing and packaging process.     Assembly:   The boat is shown without the included motor installed. The motor comes either installed or ready to install by user. The motor clamps down inside the rear compartment and it is a simply matter of attaching 4 electrical connectors and attaching the steering cable. It takes bout 10-15 minutes to prep the boat initially (to attach the motor, steering cable and connect the electrical leads to the motor, etc.).   Service and Support   As a Johnson Dealer (our website is kayacht.com), we endeavor to support everything we sell and do everything we can to make sure you are completely happy with your purchase now and in the future. This includes such things as contacting the manufacturer on our customer's behalf to obtain parts service if needed within or outside of the warranty period. We also stock of a wide variety of important replacement parts in inventory. Virtually all major parts of the Johnson Touring Boat are user-replaceable with a minimum of effort. We will be happy to answer whatever questions we can and also supply you with Johnson's step-by-step parts replacement documents as needed.   Title & Paper Work   Boats come with the official original manufacturer's certificate of origin (similar to a title). Customers may still need to submit this paperwork to their state for processing and certification in their name and/or similarly register their boat in their own state which should not cost more than about $15-$20 or so for the registration. Check with your state for more information (typically your state's DNR or Dept. of Natural Resources).       Sales Tax   When picking up a boat (and trailer if any) here in Illinois, even if you live out of state, IL state law requires me to process tax paper work and collect sales tax which will be credited to your state so that you won't have to pay the same sales tax twice. Our tax forms say that IL sales tax is 6.5% on this type of item. If any more than this should be due in IL, I will pay the difference.   Payment Types Accepted   I accept Paypal or cash. Please no E-Checks unless they will clear in time for you to pick up the boat within 7 days. Funds must be clear before boat will be released. Sorry, I no longer accept checks or money orders of any kind due to NSF risks even after they have allegedly "cleared".     Shipping:     I will ship but the auction price is For PICK-UP ONLY. If you want this shipped within the continental USA, there will be a $100 handling charge plus freight to you. The handling fee includes a lot of work on my end like assembling and prepping the box or other packaging, adding industrial straps to the box or package, special labeling, booking the shipping with the shipping broker, data entry, filling out and faxing the bill of lading to the broker, coordinating pick-up with the shipper and dealing with constant pick-up rescheduling from the carrier, tipping the driver $20 (out of the $100 handling fee) for him having to deal with a beast of a box or package, following up with the buyer to make sure they will be available to recieve it, etc. There is a lot involved. This is not like going to the post office and mailing a package. I have shipped to Hawaii and I can do Alaska as well but there is an additional handling fee (double) due to way more paper work and coordination and of course freight is very expensive for Hawaii and Alaska, usually around twelve hundred dollars.   Shipping costs (in the continental USA) range from approx. $275-$450 for an oversize package that is almost 14 feet long by almost 4 feet wide and 2 feet high weighing 160lbs. These corrugated boxes or packages are so large and unwieldy that there is no way to guarantee a perfect spotless box or package. While the inner contents are protected and will be in excellent condition, the outer box or package itself may have cosmetic imperfections caused by shipping and handling.   Note: Average estimated transit time for shipping within the continental USA is about 2 to 5 business days once the boat leaves our hands. Allow an additional 2 to 3 business days from the time of cleared payment for us to prepare your shipment and allow 2-3 business days from that time for the carrier to pick up the boat. This boat comes packed very well in a large 165" x 44" x 24" heavy duty corrugated and strapped box or other package that weighs about 160 Lbs. A box  or package of this size typically requires extra handling for shippers and assistance from the recipient in order to unload it from the truck. Buyer is responsible to be available to accept and provide proper assistance in unloading the shipment on the day arranged, or a redelivery fee may be charged due to the shipper not being able to deliver and having to remove the item from the truck to their dock and reload it on another truck for another day. Also, buyer needs to be flexible with the freight carrier. After the carrier calls you to set-up a time to deliver the boat, occasionally they will need to cancel the scheduled drop-off time and re-schedule at their expense, if they do not have any other deliveries in your area, or if a driver becomes unavailable, etc.    Again, please note: The massive box or package for this boat is very large, unwieldy and very difficult to more around and store so it is reserved for shipped boats only. It is far easier to remove the boat from the box or packaging and far easier to move the boat around when it is not inside a container. So for local pick-ups, the boat may be carefully removed from the box or other packaging and stored indoors awaiting the buyer's arrival. Therefore, a cardboard box or other packaging may not be included for local pick-up.     I have shipped these all over the country including Florida, Texas,  New York,  Maine,  Oregon,  Kansas,  Connecticut,  Pennsylvania,  California and even Hawaii (obviously Hawaii requires a much higher shipping cost). Many satisfied Customers!           Shipping Quotes:   Sorry, I have been receiving too many shipping quote requests from window shoppers who have been wasting my time. I will now only quote exact shipping after you win. The cost will not exceed the range I described above. The closer you live to Illinois, the lower the price. I exclusively book Roadrunner Dawes through an excellent discount broker and I charge their exact freight plus the $100 handling fee described above.           ADDITIONAL INFORMATION   Speed   The Johnson Touring Boat Electric Kayak moves quite briskly at about 3-4 mph (their tech support says up to 5 mph). This might not sound very fast but actually it is! Interestingly, this boat goes about twice as fast as a jon boat and a trolling motor on full speed, so it moves out quite nicely. It has a much more efficient design that cuts through the water compared to a jon boat and it can go significantly faster than the average paddler can paddle for any extended period of time.   For many people, 3-4 mph in a kayak seems more like about 8 mph because you are sitting so close to the water. If you ask someone in the boat how fast they think they are going, they are not likely going to say 3 mph!   Comfort   Bar none, I have been in the electric boat business for years and I know of no other huge tandem / 3-seater electric kayak-styled watercraft like the Johnson Touring Boat anywhere on the planet with this kind of width, leg room and optional padded seats. Maybe other boats like this exist in other countries, I do not know, but I have never seen anything like it in the USA. Nothing I've seen can even compare.   Steering Control   This boat offers convenient precision lever steering right at your fingertips without having to reach behind your back as with rear tiller steering type arrangements.   Motor   Its powerful 30 LB thrust Minnkota motor offers 5 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds. A 30 LB thrust motor is the maximum size motor that we recommend for virtually any lightweight kayak size / style boat. This is because larger motors typically only create a larger wake behind the boat but offer little if any additional top end speed. With larger thrust motors, you end up burning up more battery capacity a lot quicker for no good reason.   Few people know that virtually all trolling motors are "geared" (actually referring to the prop pitch) to go 5 MPH regardless of whether they are 30 LB thrust or 101 LB thrust. The difference is strictly in the pulling power and a 30 LB motor can move a fairly heavy boat as it is. You only need a bigger motor for a significantly heavier boat. This size motor is more than enough for a lightweight boat with a polyethylene hull and usually even offers enough pulling power to tow another similar size boat. Anything more is generally overkill and often just causes a waste of battery power.   Run Time   The Touring Boat can run for up to 5-8 hours on slow to low-medium speeds. Medium to medium high speeds can reduce the run time to about 3-4 hours and full speed all the time can reduce the range to up to about 2 hours.   Battery & Charger   The boat has its own covered compartment for the battery. It uses a standard Group 27 (car battery size) deep cycle marine battery available pretty much at any Walmart for maybe $60 or so. You can also use a non-spillable AGM type battery which costs a bit more. Buy a spare battery if you like for more run time and keep it on hand to switch out when you get back to shore. Then go out for more time on the water.   You will also need a charger. Virtually any inexpensive 12V automotive battery charger should do nicely if you plan to charge the battery when it is out of the boat, well away from water and in a dry well ventilated place. But I like the $65 Guest brand Charge Pro Model 2608A 6-AMP marine charger. These are quality built. A marine grade charger is essential if you are charging on board or anywhere near water. I use an on board Guest charger like this even as an external charger in my garage. They are very nice chargers, a lot nicer than the standard (sheet-metal construction) automotive grade chargers.   Ocean / Saltwater Ready   Do you have any idea what a salt-water ready rig like this usually costs? Just a salt water ready electric motor can cost a small fortune. This boat is an unbelievable deal. Even if you only use it in fresh water, you are still getting the extra ruggedness and durability of a saltwater ready boat.   Exercise   I consider this the ultimate exercise machine if you want to bypass the motor and use it in paddle mode. You can paddle out and power home when you get tired. Or you never have to paddle at all. Many people avoid paddle kayaks for fear of running out of steam and fear of not being able to get back if they tire out. Not so with this electric kayak!   Power-Assist Paddling   The steering on this boat is tight enough to stay centered so you can run the motor on slow to assist you in paddling! For those that are concerned that a kayak this large may have too much drag for paddling, running the motor on low can overcome the slight drag if any of a larger kayak like this and its motor. Or you can retract the motor and paddle with no power assist.   Quality   Like most kayaks, the hull is made out of polyethylene, yet the quality is so high that it almost looks and feels more like smooth gel coat fiberglass. Total quality. I have never seen any kayak like this before.   Made By a Great Company   Did you know that Johnson Outdoors is one of the most respected names in outdoor recreation and they are the makers of Minnkota Trolling Motors, the best and most popular brand of trolling motor on earth? They have invested a ton of money in the design, engineering and manufacturing of this boat which is backed by their excellent reputation and warranty.   Warranty   Boats Come With a Full Johnson Factory Warranty. 1 Year Standard or 6 Months for Commercial Use. Warranty service is in the form of replacement parts that are shipped to the boat owner for easy user-replacement. Virtually all major parts of the Johnson Touring Boat are user-replaceable with a minimum of effort. Only defective parts are covered by the warranty and in some cases it may be required that a defective part be sent in before a replacement part can be shipped. Replacement parts if needed may be new, refurbished or reconditioned, etc. at the discretion of the manufacturer or dealer. Boats cannot be returned for service and on-site service by a 3rd party or other technician is not included as part of the warranty.     Disclaimer   By entering into a purchase, buyer agrees to accept full responsibility and liability for their use (or misuse) of the watercraft as well as their handling of the boat whether the boat resides within or outside of its shipping container. Buyer further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Seller, his successors and heirs from any and all liability, legal actions, torts and claims, including legal fees, resulting from but not limited to buyer's use (or misuse) of the watercraft as well as buyers handling of the boat. If any part of this agreement is held invalid by a court of law, all other provisions shall remain in full force. This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.   Note: While this is certainly a kayak style watercraft and in my opinion the greatest kayak ever made, it is officially classified as a boat or small craft. For this reason, adults are not necessarily required to wear life vests. However, it is my recommendation that life vests be worn by all occupants at all times in any small craft. Also, among other things, running lights would not likely be allowed if this watercraft were officially classified as a kayak.     ADDITIONAL TERMS OF SALE   I take my long track record of 100% positive feedback very seriously. So by bidding on this auction, you agree that if for any reason something may not be to your liking, you will first notify me and allow me sufficient time to remedy any issue that you may have instead of leaving negative feedback. This is what you are agreeing to by bidding, and rest assured that I bend over backwards to make my customers happy and pleased with their purchases.    And, due to recent unfortunate changes in Ebay's feedback policy, I am now forced to take serious action against all non-paying bidders and those who leave unfair or unwarranted negative feedback. I am now forced to prosecute all such offences to the full extent of the rights granted by Ebay which includes seeking and obtaining a strike on the buyers account when applicable.    Be forewarned that I am one of the only (if not THE only) Johnson dealer in the world who vigorously markets and supports this boat and who stocks parts as well as offers helpful phone support, repair document services and assistance arranging for fast parts service inside or outside of the warranty period.   This means among other things that I answer questions and have important replacement parts available and I help customers in many ways such as greatly expediting service issues and warranty claims if any. As a dealer, Johnson does not require that I provide these kind of future on-going support services, especially well after a sale is completed and no such support is an explicit part of this sale. However, I do endeavor to provide such services for all customers in good standing. All reasonable customers are always in good standing and I always try to bend over backwards to take care of everyone. However, I reserve the right to refuse such service to anyone and: Any buyer who leaves unfair, frivolous or unwarranted negative feedback will receive no future phone support or parts support from me whatsoever and they will be totally on their own and will have to deal with Johnson directly for any service issues or warranty support without my to assistance to advise and expedite matters.   Due to the very large bulky size of this item and the difficulty and high cost of handling and return shipping, ALL SALES ARE FINAL. SORRY NO RETURNS.   All shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer.   I reserve the right to cancel any zero, negative or questionable bids.SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY  Thank you
