This is a 2 piece pink horse training set. 14 foot training lead rope and 4 foot stick and string. Both are described below in greater detail. #1 = This is a new black and pink striped 14 foot (5/8" dia.) training lead with attractive custom leather popper. ( Factory black popper seen in picture will also be included.) The rope has a weighted end that increases it's balance and handling ability when twirling or spinning. It is made of 20 braid nylon. Nylon tends to be a bit lighter than polyester or polypropylene. The rope is equipped with a beefy stainless Parelli type twist snap. This training lead does an excellent job when training groundwork exercises such as lunging, backing, yielding hindquarters, driving, C-pattern, sidepassing down a wall, etc. And, this rope does a great job at establishing respect. In fact, when I am called in to "fix" an especially "ill-mannered" horse, I might use this rope exclusively during the introduction phase. Rope burns seem to happen with all ropes but this lead has a large enough diameter, and a soft enough grip, that most people will have enough time to squeeze tighter, move with the horse, or release their grip before a rope burn happens. This training lead does an excellent job when training groundwork exercises, such as lunging, backing, yielding hindquarters, driving, C-pattern, side-passing down a wall, etc.. #2 = This is a (single) new pink 4 foot professional horse training stick ( also called carrot stick) with a 6 foot rope and popper. The photo shows close up of both ends together for a more detailed view, but there is only one stick up for auction. Full stick is shown with the trick horse. This stick is firm, and more tapered out to the end than Parelli's carrot stick or Clinton's handy stick making it lighter and more comfortable to use. Since it is designed to reduce weight out at the end, it "feels" even lighter than it's 9 ounces of weight. It is made of solid composite / fiberglass material and features a leather top which is bound with strong thread. It also sports a soft, but firm, 10 inch tapered black rubber handle. String is removeable and held on with a leather loop. All leather parts are treated with Lexol and hand worked with Dubbin. Leather is then coated with a fine layer of heated mink oil for additional preservation and waterproofing. These sticks are used as an extension of your arm while teaching ground work. What these sticks may be best suited for is sensitizing and desensitizing horses to pressure, and protect oneself from disrespectful behavior such as biting, striking, and kicking. A small plastic bag can be easily attached to the end of the stick if needed to give it a slightly higher intimidation factor. I am a horse trainer and clinician.
