Description

NEEM SALV-ATION ~ TOTAL CARE Spring and summer is the time midges invade our horse fields and send our horses almost mad scratching and rubbing on any available post or tree.  With Neem Salv-ation ~ Total Care your problems will be over.  I have used Neem Oil preparations on my own horse and found that it is the only product that has ever been completely successful.  In a convenient salve mixture, it is easy to apply around any difficult areas, such as the face and around the ears as a lot of horses will not tolerate sprays.  For just a simple fly/midge repellent I would recommend the horse wash concentrate, which can be applied diluted either with a spray or sponge but for a horse that suffers with sweet itch, like mine have, I recommend the Neem Salv-ation ~Total Care.  The components  of neem oil make it the all in one treatment.  Neem is anti inflammatory, to take away any swelling or irritation on the skin.  It is anti bacterial and antiseptic, to kill any germs.  It can also be used for minor cuts and wounds.  The most important is that it is a potent fly/midge repellent, ideal for the summer months when flies are in the multitude around our horses.  Midges will actually not land on your horse and if they do, they don't stick around for long!  Keeping insects away usually involves synthetic repellents containing a potentially dangerous chemical called N.Ndiethyl-m-toluamide, commonly called DEET. A safer alternative is to be found in products containing neem oil. The active ingredients in neem oil prevent insects from infesting and feeding upon your horse and they work by blocking what is known as the motility of the insect's gut. Effectively, this means that they "jam up" or switch off the fly’s biting mechanism preventing it from feeding. As a consequence of this the insects usually die of starvation or go elsewhere in search of a meal! Entirely safe to use and biodegradable, Neem oil has no side-effects other than a dramatic reduction in the fly population around the stables and the horses! Neem is non-toxic to humans, animals, birds and bees.  Although Neem Salv-ation ~ Total Care contains only natural products, some horses can have sensitive skin, so as with any product, always patch test first before use. In cooler temperatures, neem oil solidifies. Immerse bottle in warm water (or sunshine) until it liquefies. Neem oil has a strong garlic/peanut odour but midges, flies and mosquitoes hate it!  Available in 250gm.  All our information  is for educational purposes only.
