THE ULTIMATE™ "COMBI" LUNGEING TRAINING AID© IDEALY USED FOR LUNGEING, LONG REINING, LOOSE SCHOOLING HORSE WALKERS WHEN LEADING HORSES IN HAND BUT CAN ALSO BE USED WHEN RIDING & LEADING FROM ONE HORSE, LOADING DRIVING. While most of the training aids around tend to act on the forehand, they dont really help the horse to come off the forehand. This action can be compensated for by the rider legs when riding, but this becomes a lot more difficult when the horse is lunged, long reined, loose schooling or on a horse walker. You risk schooling your horse in an artificial position, without engaging the back legs which doesn't really have the disired effect of bringing the horse down and working on the bit and in a natural outline. In fact, the whole point of using a training aid is to help your horse to engage his back legs and to premote the muscles in the neck, back & hindquarters to work effiently and correctly, to help increase his topline and balance. This is a very important part of the training and of the build up of muscle for your horse. The "COMBI" training aid helps by engaging the neck, back and hindquarters and also to aviod your horse becoming flat and in turn asks him come down on the bit & outline in a soft and precise way. It improves balance by assisting your horse to bring his quarters under him and taking the weight off his forehand and therefore improving the muscle tone as it persuades engagement rather than dictating it . Brilliant for building up, developing & maintaining muscle tone. Ideal for starting young horses, re-training older equines, rehabilitating, or just solid ground / maintenance work for well schooled horses USES LUNGEING ~ use normally with just a bridle and lunge line. LONG REINING ~ as above but attach long lines to the bit, then thread through the rear loin strap rings on the Combi aid to stop them trailing on the ground or getting caught up in the legs when turning etc, the breeching strap helps to prevent the reins from crossing to one side of the horse should he attempt to spin. Ideal for people new to long reining. LOOSE SCHOOLING & HORSE WALKERS ~ This very virsatile Combi training aid can be used just on its own, so when you loose school or use a horse walker, the horse its still working freely in a relaxed outline. LEADING HORSES IN HAND ~If you have a horse which tends to be somewhat lively or pushy on the ground, on even has to be walked when recovering from injury, but again, is hard to walk in hand, the Combi aid will help keep the horse thinking and more controllerable. LEADING FROM A RIDDEN HORSE ~ Ideal if you are short of time, I often lead and ride, but i get concerned that the horse being lead not consentrating or working properly, the Combi aid yet again comes into its own. LOADING ~ do you ever have a problem loading your horse into a trailer or lorry? with the Combi aid, just take off the 2 front elasticated straps, from the bit, but do get a helper to hold the other side and you both pull very gently on the Combi aid (whilst holding the horse as normal), and the gentle pressure that the horse feels from the hind quarters, helps to load the reluctant horse. RIDING AND DRIVING ~ Using the Combi aid when either riding or driving, should only be used by experienced people or whilst under experienced supervision, and the horse should be lunged in it several times so he is used to it and is happy & settled with it.
